Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker agree that if Harry Kane had played for Liverpool, he would be posting the same numbers in the Premier League as he currently is with reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
The 30-year-old made the leap over the Germany in the summer, ending his nine-year stint in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur - just 48 strikes away from beating Shearer's all-time record in the English top-flight.
Since then Bayern have so far been made to fight for a 13th consecutive title, sitting two points behind unbeaten xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen -
Lineker
"I was thinking the other day because Harry Kane scored another two goals - that's 17 Bundesliga goals in 11 games
"[That] would have already beaten the Golden Boot winner in the Bundesliga last season."
Lineker continued:
"People are saying suddenly his ratio has got better, and then people would say 'well, the league is easier'. I don't think it is that.
"I think it is that he is now playing in a team that is dominant and he is now doing the numbers that he would have done if he was playing for a team like Manchester City or Liverpool."
Shearer replied: "Correct. Absolutely. 100 percent."
"What a player he is," Lineker concluded.
