Jurgen Klopp has saluted the “absolutely insane” travelling Liverpool support after his final away game in charge.
Klopp had his name chanted by the away end throughout the match, and after the final whistle saluted the support in an emotional exchange.
when later asked about the backing from the travelling Kop, the Liverpool boss pointed to the huge following his team have had wherever they have travelled across the globe during his near nine years in charge.
Klopp
“I enjoyed it always, I enjoyed it today,”
“I appreciate so much what these boys and girls are doing.
“The away fans are always like absolutely insane what they did, where they were. We have asked them to travel a lot over the years.”
It was and is a wonderful relationship. I always try to show my appreciation, and today the boys showed that as well with the way they played.
“I still don’t feel like it’s the last time, I know it is but it just doesn’t feel it.
“I am obviously more professional than I thought, because I was completely in the game, I didn’t think a second about it being my last away game, I had no movie going through my head, nothing. I was completely in the game.”
