Alexis Mac Allister makes 'intense' Liverpool admission and Enzo Fernandez transfer claim

Alexis Mac Allister has described his Liverpool Premier League debut as a day he will never forget and praised Jurgen Klopp’s man management skills.

Mac Allister played a major role in Luis Diaz’s opener, with his searching pass setting Mohamed Salah free down the right.

Mac Allister

"A great joy to be able to debut with this great shirt, and that I waited so long,"

"Since I made my debut with this shirt, I'm really looking forward to my first game. After a hard pre-season, it happened, and well, it's also a joy to have my family in the stadium supporting me. A day I will never forget."

"Very intense; we knew that they improved a lot in the pre-season with a new coach and new players,"

"In the end, a draw, which is not what we wanted because we obviously wanted to win, but it's a draw in the end, and it helps to start the season."

Mac Allister also believes that fellow international team-mate Enzo Fernandez showed why Chelsea paid £106.8m

"I have already faced him several times - I have played with him, he is a great player. I respect him a lot, we have a great relationship.

"Today he showed why they paid what they paid for him, why he is here, and it makes me happy for him, obviously."

Mac Allister adds: "Jurgen is a person who is close to his players; he treats them in a great way, and I think that is the most important thing a person has.

"He treats me very well; we've had good talks about what he wants from me on the pitch, and well, it's a joy for me to be able to work with him as well."
