The wife of Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, Natalia, has been forced to clarify that she is not the individual involved in a tragic incident at a Brazilian beauty clinic
The confusion arose on some social media sites due to a namesake, a social media influencer, being arrested on suspicion of manslaughter
Natalia Becker, who shares her name with the influencer in question, is actually a qualified doctor and the mother of three children with the Liverpool goalkeeper
In an effort to set the record straight, Natalia took to Instagram to address her 351,000 followers, stating:
"Clarification. I am not the 'Natalia Becker' named in the news about the beauty clinic. It's another person who has the same name and last surname. No relation whatsoever."
The mix-up linked her to a criminal investigation in Brazil concerning a high-risk cosmetic procedure after the death of 27-year-old Mr Chagas.
The actual owner of the clinic, 29-year-old Natalia Fabiana de Freitas Antonio, also goes by the name Natalia Becker online.
Henrique opted for a chemical peel to address his acne issues. Medical assistance was called to the clinic when he started experiencing pain.
The woman in question, who bears a physical resemblance to Alisson's wife only in terms of her brunette hair (though she has previously dyed it blonde), left the scene claiming she felt unwell and needed to go to the hospital.
She voluntarily turned herself in to the police yesterday and is now under formal investigation as part of an ongoing manslaughter probe.
Investigators are considering the possibility that Henrique may have had an allergic reaction to the chemical peel, leading to anaphylactic shock.
The owner of the clinic, who unlike Alisson's wife is not a qualified doctor, expressed her sorrow over the incident following her arrest.
Speaking to local press, the Daily Mirror reports that she said: "I feel for Henrique's family. This has ended my own life. I never had the intention of doing him any harm."
