Roy Keane was left stunned after Liverpool head coach Arne Slot highlighted Manchester United's tactical weakness.
The Reds claimed a 3-0 win in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Sunday to secure all three points.
The victory leaves the Reds second in the top-flight standings and only behind leaders Manchester City on goals scored.
Slot gave an interview where he was asked to identify any hints from Man United's tactics in previous matches that contributed to his game plan
Slot:
"Last season they [Man United] had a man-marking system in the midfield and a press with the striker and one of the wingers, this season they are with a more No.9 and No.10 press, so a 4-4-2,"
"So that's different, of course. In my opinion, I see them working harder if the ball is being played through them so they run more.
"That's at least what I saw in the first games of them [this season]."
Keane was seemingly left stunned by Slot's analysis of United's weaknesses and asked the Liverpool head coach for clarification on one element of the gameplan.
All three of the goals came from the Reds winning the ball in the opposition half, and Keane was curious about Slot's views on the plan.
Keane asked:
“Did you know if you won the ball high up the pitch you would be straight at them, really? As simple as that, if you could win it high up?"
"Their style this season and maybe last season as well, their full-backs are really high and Casemiro comes in between," Slot said in response to Keane's question.
"So if you can get the ball and keep Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah high then you are constantly in a one-vs-one situation.
“Then you need midfielders that can run and we had three of them today, who kept on running. And if they arrive in a duel, they are aggressive enough to win it, so that was one of the main things why we could win today."
