One of the key changes Arne Slot has implemented at Liverpool has been the reintroduction of the No.10 into the tactical framework
Under Jurgen Klopp, such a position became a luxury, with the former Reds manager preferring a high, counter-pressing system over a roving, creative midfielder with few defensive instructions.
Klopp once said on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football;
"Counter-pressing makes exactly the same [influence as a playmaker],
""No playmaker in the world can be as good as a good counter-pressing situation."
while Slot has kept Liverpool's high press that was made famous during Klopp's nine-year reign, the midfield tweak now sees one of the three more advanced, with Dominik Szoboszlai so far entrusted to do the damage in the final third.
Two assists in three games so far, both for Mohamed Salah, is a decent indicator that the Hungary captain could be well suited to playing at the top of the engine room.
Szoboszlai's running power, shooting ability and plentiful reserves of stamina mark him out as a player who could thrive in the position and his willingness to burst beyond the striker at Anfield could be a useful weapon going forward.
