Klopp has avoided potentially upsetting any of his former Liverpool players by refusing to pick a potential winner for Euro 2024 and Copa America.
Various members of the Reds' first-team squad are still competing at international level as they look to secure silverware this summer
Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold remain with England at the Euros
same also applying to Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch and Virgil van Dijk (Netherlands), Diogo Jota (Portugal) and Ibrahima Konate (France).
Alexis Mac Allister, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez have each guided their countries into the quarter-finals of Copa America
Alisson Becker set to join them barring a highly unlikely scenario which could see Costa Rica overtake Brazil in second place in Group D.
Asked to provide his thoughts on who could end up winning both competitions, Klopp was noncommittal
Klopp
“In the moment, it looks a little bit like Spain could do it. Germany is good, France will be good, England will be better definitely”
Adopting a similar stance with his Copa America prediction,
Klopp added:
"Argentina or Brazil; or Colombia or Uruguay. I texted yesterday with Alisson, I cannot make that decision."
