'Complain for everything' - Pep Guardiola makes Saudi Pro League transfer claim after Klopp concern

Pep Guardiola has suggested there is a sense of hypocrisy from Premier League clubs when complaining about the recent lure of Saudi Arabia.

Clubs across Europe have felt the full effect of the new-found riches of the Saudi Pro League

Jurgen Klopp has been one of the Premier League's more outspoken managers on the disruption of the Saudi Pro League

the Reds boss using press conferences in recent weeks to express his concern about the competition's transfer window not closing until six days after most European markets close on September 1.

Guardiola used his press conference to offer an alternative view of the Pro League's rise to prominence

Guardiola insisted clubs across the continent have been quick to roll out the "red carpet" in the hope of receiving inflated fees for some of their players

Guardiola:

"Everyone complains about Saudi Arabia, but when Saudi Arabia knocks on the door, all clubs open the door, red carpet...,"

"They say, 'what do you want my friend? I'll sell everything!'... So happy! Ah... complain for everything, but everyone opens the door!”

In the aftermath of both Henderson and Fabinho's departures, Liverpool tabled a British record offer of £111m for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo

Klopp insisted the Reds' offer was only feasible as a result of their earlier summer departures

Klopp:

"We are a club that does not have endless resources, and some things we didn’t expect happening in the summer,"

"Hendo [Henderson], Fab [Fabinho], we didn’t think about these things [selling them] before the summer to be honest.

“Then it happened and we gave it a go and the club was really stretched, to be honest. I cannot and will not share any more than that. Let’s see what happens and then we go from there."
