Ruben Amorim has admitted that his own son wants him to stay put at Sporting Lisbon
The 39-year-old is the frontrunner to replace Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager
Amorim’s men are currently closing in on the Liga Portugal title.
Sporting won 1-0 away at Famalicao on Monday night to move seven points clear of Benfica at the top of the table with five games left to play.
Having also booked their place in next month’s Taca de Portugal final, Amorim and Sporting are focussed on their efforts to try and clinch an historic double
While Amorim has recently insisted he will answer no further questions from journalists about his future, it appears he might not be able to escape the same querying in the sanctum of his own home!
Amorim was asked whether Sporting supporters would rather win the league or see the 39-year-old stay put as manager.
Amorim revealed how even his own son has quizzed him and wants him to stay put at the Portuguese club.
"Both, Even my son asks me for both things!
“But the important thing is for Sporting to be champions. That's what the fans want and that's what we fight for."
