Mohamed Salah had admitted Roberto Firmino’s Liverpool exit made him realise that everybody will leave the club one day
The Egyptian’s own Anfield future is the subject of uncertainty ahead of his current contract expiring next summer.
Salah is said to be desperate to stay put with the Reds. But as things stand, the 32-year-old would be free to agree a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs from January 1.
Regardless of the speculation around his future, Salah has been in excellent form under Arne Slot this season
With the Dutchman winning 15 of his 17 matches in charge, Salah has featured in every game and returned an eye-catching 10 goals and 10 assists.
Having previously admitted that he is conscious of the fact that this will be his last season with the Reds as things stand,
Salah has now revealed how he is making sure to enjoy every second of his career after growing increasingly aware of the time-limit on it.
Salah
“The thing I appreciate the most is the time when I go every morning, and I see the guys, and we share, like, unbelievable moments,”
“Especially us three plus Virg and Trent, the senior group.
“Because when Bobby (Firmino) left, for example, you just realised that everybody will leave one day. So you always… I don’t take that for granted.
“When I go there, I always try to have a laugh with them and just spend good time together. In my head, I always remember the good things we had together, or even the bad stuff.
“Not the worst stuff, but like the failure in the Champions League (final), for example. It’s a bad memory for us but it’s still like something, it’s not easy to reach a Champions League final.
“So the whole journey was good. You had bad luck in the final, that’s it.
“When I see the guys, especially the senior group, it just gives me a good memory all the time…
“I believed inside me: ‘It’s not going to stay like this forever. It’s just a situation, it’s going to pass for sure.’
“And every day - I mean it, every day - every day I’m in the AXA, I don’t think, I enjoy it a lot. Because you’re going to look back and you look at the players that left, I don’t know if they enjoyed it or not.
“But my time here, I’m enjoying every second of it. I just want to look back to my career and say, ‘I enjoyed everything.’”
Salah declared that he wants to win everything with the Reds this year as he revealed how much he hates the notion that Liverpool are ‘underdogs’.
Salah added
“Win it all. In my opinion, I work so hard every day, I hate the idea that we are underdogs,” he responded to host Kelly Cates when asked what he wants to achieve this season.
“No, we have an incredible group. One of the best in the world, if not the best. In each position, you’re gonna find players that are really one of the top three in the world.
“So, why we don’t win it? This city and this club has to always fight for everything.”
