'Everything moves' - Mohamed Salah hints at Liverpool exit plan after Jurgen Klopp departure

Mohamed Salah has insisted that Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave Liverpool won’t impact his own future at the club

Klopp announced in January that he will step down as Reds manager at the end of the season

Salah, who is out of contract in the summer of 2025, continues to be linked with a possible move away amid interest from Saudi Arabia

The Egyptian has conceded that one day he will follow the German out of the Anfield exit door, but insists that his manager’s departure won’t influence his own decision about his future.

Salah

“No, no. It’s life. It’s part of life now,” Salah told Sky Sports, when asked if Klopp's exit would affect his situation.

“Everything moves."

“Players left the club already, very important players left the club. Manager also very important for the club but he’s leaving the club

“One day I will leave the club, but no (Klopp leaving won’t impact my decision).”

Salah also revealed how he found out that Klopp would be leaving Liverpool, admitting he didn’t initially believe captain Virgil van Dijk when the Dutchman told him the news

Salah added

“It was weird. Usually we don’t do meeting at 10.30,”

“10.30 is report time, 12 is training, but they said there is a meeting at 10.30. I was like, ‘What?’

“Then five minutes before the meeting, Virg says to me, ‘Do you know what the meeting is about?’ I said, ‘No?’ He says

‘The manager is leaving’. (Salah gestures dismissively in disbelief.)

“He said, ‘Really, the manager is leaving’. I said, ‘Are you serious?’ He said, ‘Yeah’. I said, ‘Why?’ He said, ‘No idea.’

“Then the manager came in and everybody is asking. I don’t know, I don’t know. Then he just said it. It was just weird.

“No-one knew before, nothing in the media. He didn’t even prepare us for that. He just said it one time. Okay, that was a weird day for us.”
