Calvin Ramsay has left Liverpool this summer with a point to prove after enduring two injury-hit seasons since signing from Aberdeen.
Ramsay, 20, made just two appearances for liverpool during his first year at Anfield before knee surgery curtailed that debut season
He spent last term away from the club on loan, initially at Preston North End.
But the defender did not play for the Championship club until November after suffering an injury setback and only got on the pitch twice
Ramsay went back out on loan to Bolton Wanderers but only played four times for the League One promotion hopefuls.
The Scotland international will now get another crack at life in the third tier after joining Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan.

“I’m just excited for the start of the season, really,”
“When I was driving up to the training ground, there was a real excitement.
“I don’t know what it was, just hungry to get going and show everyone what I can do and probably prove a few people wrong as well who have been maybe saying a few things or doubting me.”
Ramsay also addressed his injury woes during his first interview after signing for Wigan.
Ramsay continued:
“It’s been almost a year, and I’ve been at Preston and that, when I was out injured going to the games all the time, seeing the boys playing, doing well, and you miss it.
“Now I’m back, fully fit, ready to get a good pre-season under me, go to Hungary for a week, some warm-weather training, come back, have a few friendlies, then the season will be right around the corner. I’m looking forward to it.”
