'Got to be' - Kieran Trippier makes 'hostile' Liverpool claim ahead of Newcastle United meeting

Kieran Trippier has named Anfield as the Premier League stadium with the best atmosphere, aside from St James' Park.

The Newcastle United defender has played at the home of the Reds with four separate clubs, Burnley, Tottenham Hotspur, Atletico Madrid and his current club, winning on only one occasion

Liverpool is widely recognised as one of the toughest places to play in world football

Jurgen Klopp's side rarely lose a game on home soil and have been defeated in only one of their previous 39 league outings in L4

Trippier was asked which fanbase are the most vocal apart from Newcastle:

Trippier

"It's got to be Anfield. I've played many games there, many big games, and their fans are really good. Every time I've been there, it has always been a hostile place but the one I really enjoy."

In addition to praising the quality of Liverpool supporters, the England international also heaped praise on Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Trippier adds

"It's a tough one that because you've obviously got Walks [Kyle Walker], Reece [James] and Trent,"

"I really love watching Walks play. Since he went from Tottenham to Man City, he has evolved into an even stronger and faster player. He's the one that springs to mind [as the best]."
