Roy Keane has slammed Trent Alexander-Arnold's defensive ability, claiming he "can't believe how bad" the Liverpool right-back is when up against opposition players.
Trent has been in inspired form this season for Jurgen Klopp's side, reaching peak performance levels after what was a testing campaign last term.
Carrying out his hybrid role, which often sees the 25-year-old start matches at full-back before pushing on into midfield
The Reds and the team are continuing to reap the rewards of the creative chances the No.66 is producing on a weekly basis.
Some of Alexander-Arnold's harshest critics remain unsatisfied with his defending in one-on-one situations
Keane appears to be one individual who is in agreement with this view after criticising the player
Keane
"I can’t believe how bad [Trent Alexander-Arnold] is at defending.
"For a guy that’s played a lot of games in defence, it’s like he’s never played the position before. How bad he is at defending, it’s amazing when people just run past him."
Ian Wright dismissed Keane's argument after telling him his views were simply outdated.
Wright
"It's such a redundant argument," said Wright. "For people saying players run past him, he's not playing that role now. He is a creator now."
