Michail Antonio has described the recent transfer battles between Chelsea and Liverpool as "madness".
The two Premier League heavyweights have been battling it out for the signatures of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia
Liverpool agreed a £111m deal for Caicedo on Friday. However, the 21-year-old midfielder's preference was always Chelsea,
Meanwhile, the Reds also look set to miss out on Romeo Lavia after Chelsea agreed a fee of £53m plus £5m in add-ons to Southampton for the midfielder
Reacting to the two transfers on the The Footballer’s Football Podcast,
Antonio said:
"It’s madness.
"Liverpool go bid, bid, bid, then Chelsea go, ‘nah, man is stepping in. This is my player now'," said Antonio. "They got him because Caicedo is a massive Chelsea fan.
"Then, the Southampton midfielder, Romeo Lavia, again, Liverpool (put down) £60m accepted. Now, I am hearing that Lavia wants to go Chelsea as well. I am like ‘what!?’. They are moving mad."
