Andy Robertson says Liverpool can't make excuses for their first-half display after coming from behind to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers.
With changes during the interval, Liverpool were resurgent after the restart and the fightback started
Harvey Elliott's effort rubberstamped the victory for the Reds after it deflected off Hugo Bueno late on.
The victory extended their winning run to four games, following on from their strong start prior to the international break
Mac Allister was named in the starting line-up but was sacrificed at half-time for Luis Diaz after a torrid 45 minutes. However, Robertson says the Reds can't make excuses for the short-turnaround from the international break.
Asked what Klopp said to his side at half-time,
Robertson said:
"I can tell you some of it, but probably not all of it.
"We weren't at the races in the first-half, we can come up with excuses like lads playing across the world but at the end of the day, you have to be ready to play the game"
"I think it took us 45 minutes to get into it, Wolves were the better team, they created the best chances, put us under pressure and we made too many mistakes.
"In the second-half, we came out changed our formation slightly, went to 4-4-2, I think it worked, pushing people further forward. I think we dominated the second-half and probably got what we deserved out of the second-half performance."
Robertson added
"I don't get many goals so it's always nice to score, we knew they were quick on counter-attacks and corners so we had to be alert and I know Mo (Salah) can pick a pass so I got in there and luckily slotted it in. I'm delighted for the goal, crucial for us to get our noses in front,"
"During the speculation, I thought he was superb on the pitch and there was a lot of talk outside it. Now that's all done and dusted, I thought he put in a good second-half performance like we all did, first-half we all were not at it.
"He probably only gets credit when he gets goals which is slightly unfair, but he's got us two assists today, he's got us back in the game, created chances and second half he was really good."
