Peter Schmeichel has dismissed Manchester United's chances against Liverpool
United have suffered an indifferent start to the Premier League campaign that sees his side sit sixth and 10 points behind leaders Liverpool.
United have not been helped by an injury crisis, which worsened on Tuesday when Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw limped out of United's 1-0 defeat to Bayern.
Schmeichel has described his former club's prospects for this weekend's encounter at Anfield as "not very good".
Schmeichel
"Everything seems out of sync, I have to be honest. Of course, you have Harry Maguire coming off with an injury. Luke Shaw came off with an injury.
"We've got Liverpool on Sunday. I’m trying not to think about that. It’s going to be without our captain (Bruno Fernandes, who is suspended), without possibly our best player of the last month or so, Harry Maguire. It’s going to be without Luke Shaw if he is injured.
"The prospects are not very good. Based on this performance (Bayern), how can this team go to Anfield and win? I just can’t see it."
