'I’ve needed a b*********' - Trent Alexander-Arnold on 'honest' talks with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Trent Alexander-Arnold admits he "owes everything" to Jurgen Klopp as the Liverpool vice-captain revealed the two sides to his man-management style.

Trent was given his senior debut by Klopp back in October 2016 at Anfield

On Klopp's watch, the No.66 has won the Champions League, Premier League, Club World Cup, two League Cups as well as the FA Cup in 2022

Trent detailed how close their relationship is as the manager enters the final weeks of his nine-year stint on Merseyside.

Klopp has guided Alexander-Arnold from an academy hopeful to Liverpool vice-captain and England international over the past eight years

Trent admits he owes a lot to the coach who introduced him to senior football.

Jurgen Klopp doesn’t have the fear factor like it’s scary to be around him, but it’s more his presence and the aura about him that is one of, if not the best manager on the planet and he’s showing that

“So, when you’re a young player or even coming into the first team, you’re on your toes and I’m thinking how’s the manager reacting to this and you’re wanting to get in his good books, and I just owe everything to him.

“The good thing about Jurgen Klopp is that he knows when a b********* is needed but also when a bit of love is needed, and I think that’s very important to be able to see who needs it and when they need it.

“There have been times when I’ve needed a b********* and there’s been times when I’ve not needed it, and I need a bit of love and guidance, and he’s been there for me and he’s someone that I can go into his office, even if it’s not football related, and speak to him to vent and get things off my chest.

"He’s always encouraging the lads to go into his office and speak to him, and he’s there to give answers and be honest about the decisions he makes. If you’re going to the manager with questions, the gaffer has to be honest with you.”
