I would not want Richarlison on my team and Liverpool win over Tottenham proved why

John Aldridge:

Sunday's win over Tottenham Hotspur was certainly a stressful watch.

The first 20 minutes of the match were excellent, but then we took our foot off the pedal and tried to manage the game too early

We therefore lost the momentum and passed the ball around aimlessly at times, not even looking to score

Tottenham were all over the place after 20 minutes, but they are always likely to get chances with Kane and Son on the pitch.

Diogo Jota's winner was a great finish, take it from me. Some players would snatch at that chance when the game was at such a tense point, but he showed remarkable composure to pick out the bottom corner.

Liverpool only had four shots on target throughout the game and scored four goals, which is brilliant from a striker’s perspective, but we are better than that at Anfield

Our chances of top four look slim despite this being a fourth win in a row, but we just have to keep putting points on the board and see where we end up

It was great to see Richarlison’s big moment at Anfield spoiled, having thought he was the hero for Tottenham.

He is not a player anyone can take to because of his antics: he’s always going to ground, he is never smiling and is constantly winding people up.

He is gifted as a player, but the way in which he conducts himself on the pitch means he is not someone you would want on your team.

You could sense he was going to score when he came on, but we had the last laugh.

You can’t blame Richarlison for the celebration, that’s part and parcel of football, but his big moment was taken away from him by Jota.

That’s what made the win more enjoyable.
