Ian Wright has hailed the impact Ryan Gravenberch has had on Liverpool this season
The Dutch midfielder has thrived since being moved into a move defensive role under Arne Slot
And Wright, who scored 185 goals in 288 games for Arsenal, believes Liverpool are now seeing Gravenberch's "true ability"
Gravenberch has been an ever-present for Liverpool in the league this season, featuring mostly alongside Alexis Mac Allister at the base of Slot's midfield.
Wright
"In the way that he has adapted to that position, these games have given him the confidence and he has now got the momentum where he’s outstanding. Outstanding performances.
“What we are seeing is that obviously against maybe that calibre of opposition, his true ability is coming out. But what he is doing to show us is fantastic.
“The way he can dribble out of trouble, he can pass out of trouble, he can stop, he can break up possession and then he can progress the ball. These kinds of games will only give him confidence for the games to come.”
Wright also had words of praise for Liverpool head coach Slot, who has won nine out of his opening 10 games in all competitions.
He added: “It’s been brilliant what he’s done, what is it eight out of nine he’s won?
“So it’s magnificent for him to start like that.”
