England Under-21 star Quansah has enjoyed something of a meteoric rise to first-team stardom these past 12 months
The centre-back developed into an important and valued member of the squad as the campaign went on under Jurgen Klopp
It is now understood to be close to agreeing an improved deal that reflects his status with the Reds.
Quansah can expect a significant pay hike in his fresh terms and the deal is a reward for a player who has improved immensely
Newcastle United asked for Quansah to be included in a deal for Anthony Gordon to move to Liverpool back in June but club officials rebuffed the proposal
A new long-term contract has been the plan for Quansah for quite some time and it’s been suggested it could be signed during the international break.
Negotiations with Konate’s camp are believed to be less further along than Quansah but there is a determination at the club to tie down the France international
The 25-year-old defender, who has played a major role in a Reds team who gave the best defensive record in the Premier League
Meanwhile, Liverpool continue to see speculation around three others whose contract situations are more pressing, with captain Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salahand Trent Alexander-Arnold able to speak to clubs outside of England about a pre-contact agreement in January. Talks remain ongoing with all three parties.
