ITV has reportedly failed in attempting to secure Jurgen Klopp as a pundit for this summer’s European Championships in Germany
ITV are now said to be leading the race to land Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou for the summer tournament.
The broadcasters are thought to have beaten the BBC to the Spurs manager, having been told no by Klopp.
The former Liverpool manager will instead attend the tournament as a fan as he begins his break from football, the Daily Mail claims.
The German has insisted that he will step away from the game for at least a year after eight-and-a-half seasons at Liverpool
Klopp had cited the reason for his shock Liverpool exit as due to a lack of energy to continue.
Klopp has conducted punditry before, having done so for German media at the 2006 and 2010 World Cups and the 2008 Euros
Klopp said on his newly-created Instagram account, ‘Kloppo’, that he is due to go on holiday this summer following his Anfield farewell.
