Jamie Carragher hailed Jurgen Klopp's substitutions in their 3-1 win over Sheffield United.

The Reds moved back to the top of the Premier League after their hard-fought triumph over the Blades.

Gustavo Hamer caused concern for Klopp's side when full-back Conor Bradley inadvertently steered his header beyond Caoimhin Kelleher

But Mac Allister restored Liverpool's lead with an emphatic half-volley, 13 minutes from time

Carragher

"Once again this season the Liverpool subs make the difference, Klopp has utilised the 5 sub rule better than anyone."

With the game level, the German made a series of bold changes including the surprise withdrawal of top goalscorer Mohamed Salah, who was replaced by Harvey Elliott

But the swaps were inspired as Elliott, Andy Robertson, Gakpo and Curtis Jones made telling contributions to continue Liverpool's formidable run

With goals in the 77th and 90th-minute, the Reds extended their impressive record of scoring in the latter stages

Liverpool visit Manchester United on Sunday with Man City travelling to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace, while Arsenal take on Roberto De Zerbi's side.
