Jurgen Klopp has confirmed he has spoken to new Liverpool head coach Arne Slot
Klopp has left Liverpool after a near nine-year reign that saw the club win seven major trophies
The 56-year-old German will be succeeded by former Feyenoord boss Slot, whose appointment was confirmed last week.
The 45-year-old Dutchman has arrived on Merseyside ahead of his first official day in the job on Saturday (June 1)
And speaking at the Evening with Jurgen Klopp event at the M&S Bank Arena, the outgoing Liverpool boss revealed he has had contact with Slot.
Klopp said:
"I spoke to pretty much everybody on the new leadership team. He's a really good manager."
Before the event Klopp sent an emotional message to Reds supporters. He said: "Okay, so now I've tried to put myself somehow in proper gear to say now for the last time, hopefully, goodbye.
Klopp
"I'm pretty sure it will be a good event - again pretty emotional, but I think we are through the worst now. So we can have a good time and that's the plan.
"So I wish you as well - if you can see it - if you can watch it (I'm not sure if somebody shows it) a wonderful night as well.
"So let's go! So here we go, that's it. Ready for the party."
