Jurgen Klopp lifts lid on Liverpool dressing room row that sparked famous comeback

Klopp has revealed he had to deal with an argument between two of his players during Liverpool's 2-1 win over Aston Villa in the club's Premier League title-winning season

Goals from Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane helped the Reds come from behind at Villa Park after Mahmoud Trézéguet had opened the scoring for the hosts

The game is widely regarded as one of the key moments that helped deliver the club's first league title in 30 years

But Klopp has now revealed that he had to diffuse some tension in the dressing room at half-time

Klopp reflected

"Really special game when we won 2-1”

"At half-time we had a little situation in the dressing room.

“We could calm it down and we turned the game around which was really, really special. That's what happens when you go for absolutely everything.

"When everything's on the edge and the these kind of things can happen.

“We turned around two really special goals. Sadio with the header where the foot was there and (his) head was there.

“It was really dangerous. The boys really wanted it. A really important one. It was a great feeling after the game definitely."

Klopp added:

"Little argument between two players. But you will not get the names from me! It was no problem it was just a situation.

“This group of players was really special. It meant so much but things can happen when you work together for a long time. It's normal. But it worked out."

“A lot of their players were arguing and you could tell they were uncomfortable in the first half.

"When teams start arguing with each other you normally know you’ve got them but at the same time you have to respect they are such a good team, they just regroup, get together and go again. Unfortunately for us they did that."
