Klopp says he is delighted Liverpool found a speedy solution to their midfield issues after missing out on the signings of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea
On Friday, Liverpool announced the signing of VfB Stuttgart captain Wataru Endo on a four-year deal
Klopp said:
"I'm really happy we can announce the agreement with the club and the player.
"That's really cool. I'm absolutely happy. I am from Germany, watch lots of Bundesliga, known him since Stuttgart and liked him pretty much from the start. A late bloomer
Klopp added:
"The last week was a tricky one, no doubt about that. But I'm more than happy with the solution.
"He [Endo] is a really good footballer, 5ft 10 but jumps through the ceiling, really good in the air and generally defence. Tactically really smart. Good footballer, a big heart, desire.
"I've nothing to say about that, absolutely nothing to say. The transfer business is that you talk to people, clubs, agent, players and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Nothing else to say from my point of view"
Asked if it had become harder to attract players to Liverpool Klopp replied:
"As a normal club, it's really difficult to catch up with other clubs. Saudi Arabia on top of that has not made things easier. The window here is open until August 31, and then after that their window is still open."
"Not everything is perfect in Europe or where the big leagues are - but the endless money (in Saudi) causes a problem.
"It became more difficult, but not to convince players to come to Liverpool, we have to make sure we get them right from our point of view. We have to get timings right. We cannot afford to just spend"
"We will not use money as an excuse for one second. We will just go for it. We do it our way."
