Klopp has praised Newcastle United for their recent business in the transfer market -
The Reds are at St James' Park on Sunday aiming to land an early blow in the battle for Champions League qualification
The Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund assumed majority control at Newcastle in October 2021,
After which they have boasted a net spend of £325million in the subsequent four transfer windows.
Klopp believes the Magpies have invested wisely and is adamant they should now be considered among the leading clubs in the Premier League

"Of course. Nobody knew exactly what would happen afterwards but so far they have not done crazy business. Probably people thought it would rather look more like the Chelsea windows.
"They have brought in fantastic players like Isak, Botman, Bruno (Guimaraes), Willock, really smart business piece by piece.
"And then this year Tonali and Barnes, and they can swap strikers between Isak and Wilson which is impressive.
"But they still have players from before like Almiron, Longstaff and Schar. They did business before but could the Newcastle of before have done what they are doing now?
"Probably not. I really respect a lot the way they do it and cannot say anything about the circumstances. Are Newcastle here to stay? Definitely."
Klopp added:
"It was a joke! Because the two guys (Howe and Tindall) always stand together, that's obvious but I was just making a joke.
"But of course it's no problem, the fourth official is keeping an eye on it, it is fine, it’s the rules. In Champions League it has always been like this.
"At Chelsea, (Liverpool assistant manager) Peter Krawietz, who is responsible for organising our set-pieces, came up next to me and the fourth official told me that’s not possible, so then I sat down - that’s fine.
"There’s a few new things this season from a refereeing point of view and we have to adapt to that like everybody else."
