Liverpool 'discover' Barcelona's Luis Diaz transfer stance after Man City claim

Luis Diaz continues to be linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer and is reportedly appreciated by Barcelona

But the club are yet to receive an approach for his services, despite claims that the Spanish giants and Manchester City are interested.

Reports in Colombia this month claimed Barcelona had started discussions to sign the winger

It has been suggested that a move could happen in the final days before the transfer window closes on August 30.

Mundo Deportivo now suggests that Diaz remains on Barca's radar and is regarded as an alternative to Nico Williams, who decided to stay at Athletic Bilbao

the Spanish giants have not held talks with the Reds over a potential deal, it's said the club are 'fully aware' of the winger's situation and his admiration for Barca.

Diaz' father Luis Manuel previously revealed it would be the player's dream to play at the Nou Camp

“The truth is that I know very little about Barcelona at the moment," he told Win Sports. "It is true that Luis is a loyal Barcelona fan and it would be his dream to go there.

"So far I would like to thank Porto and Liverpool for the way they welcomed him and received him.

“Luis is a player who finds it easy to win over because of the way he is, because of his humility, his work, his dedication, he is a very disciplined player, thank God.”

“There would be no problem if Luis came to Barcelona because it is a top team and one of the best in the world."

the Blaugrana's financial struggles are believed to be the main stumbling block for them to complete a deal.

It's claimed they cannot compete with other clubs to pay what Liverpool would demand for Diaz.

The report states the Merseyside club would 'ask for more money' than what Williams was available for (£50m) which would be out of their reach.
