Liverpool make Chelsea 'contact' over Levi Colwill as four Arne Slot transfer possibilities outlined

Liverpool have enquired about Chelsea defender Levi Colwill, according to a report.

According to HITC, the Reds have approached the London club over the England defender as they look to bolster their ranks

It has been suggested that additions at both ends of the pitch are being targeted with Arne Slot settling in for his first season

From Chelsea's perspective, they continue to suggest the Stamford Bridge club are looking to offload a number of homegrown talents including Conor Gallagher, Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja, however, Colwill is not among them

The Reds have previously tracked the England under-21 international but accepted last summer that there were too many hoops to jump through at the time.

The left-sided centre-half was wanted by the Seagulls on a permanent deal and Chelsea themselves saw him as a key fixture in their backline

It’s also claimed that Slot could be looking to acquire as many as four new additions in his first transfer window in charge.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are facing contract uncertainty as they enter the final 12 months of their contracts

Its suggested that the Slot could look for a replacement for the Liverpool captain.

“For me, it’s a bit early. I need to see Slot in place longer to see what he wants from the squad, and hear from my sources about the areas they’re going to lose players in as well.”

“He’s going to be concerned about the area up front and the scoring ability after the end of last season. The youth in midfield is something he may worry about.”

"He’ll also want to try and bring in Virgil van DIjk’s replacement at the back, as well as add a new goalkeeper.

“It’s too early to say for sure, but a manager often gets a feel for the squad before coming in. He’ll have done a lot of work, and he’ll have looked at the data before coming in.

"We haven’t seen any signs, but I think Slot will have his own views. I don’t think he’ll destabilise too much, but there could be three or four in and three or four heading out."
