Liverpool's players became "jealous" of Jurgen Klopp's treatment of one first-team member during the German's final campaign at Anfield.
The former Reds manager was known for the way in which he looked after his players and created a family feel among the squad,
Klopp often acted as a father figure to many and providing that arm round the shoulder when it was needed most.
Yet one player perhaps got more affection than others.
In fact, the player in question even admitted it himself that Klopp used to treat him like a son. Alexis Mac Allister only joined the Reds 12 months ago but almost immediately found himself besotted by the German.
Mac Allister
“I have an incredible relationship with him, honestly. He always treated me with a lot of affection and respect,"
"I even have to put up with being called his son," he laughed. "I put up with that all year. Now that he's gone, I don't have that problem."
When asked how his team-mates reacted to the affection he received from Klopp, the Argentine said:
"Some [were] jealous, you know how they are. 'Oh yes, your dad, your dad.' But yes, I admire him and have a great relationship with him."
Perhaps that strong relationship with Klopp is what helped fuel the midfielder's impressive first campaign on Merseyside

There was also a piece of silverware to top off an impressive debut campaign, playing 87 minutes in the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea
Mac Allister followed up an impressive season at domestic level with an even better summer with Argentina
Now on the cusp of returning to pre-season following his well-deserved break, the 25-year-old will be hoping to pick up where he left off
This time around, however, there will be no Klopp.
how Mac Allister will fair without the level of affection Klopp gave him will be interesting to see.
