Jamie Carragher does not believe Mohamed Salah will be sold by Liverpool during the current transfer window - but has refused to rule out the idea of the Egyptian exiting next summer
Salah has been the subject of interest from Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad, who have already recruited one Reds player in the form of Fabinho
Of the view Salah will stay put, despite the fact Al-Ittihad are likely to continue testing the Reds' resolve,
Carragher said:
"He wouldn't leave for £100million. I think if it got to £150m, and maybe over that, you might have a question to be asked.
"But I just think it is so late in the window, that is the problem. If you actually think of Liverpool's model under FSG, if this had come at a better time or the team was a little bit better, I think they would seriously think about it.
Carragher added
"They did that with Philippe Coutinho a few years ago. Liverpool didn't replace Coutinho, they just strengthened in other areas. If that was to happen, which I don't think it will, it does make me think about next summer. Mo Salah has got two seasons to go, so I think it could be something that is revisited next summer."
"If they [Al-Ittihad] kept going higher and higher, of course it was be ridiculous to turn down an obscene amount of money," Carragher told Sky Sports. "Liverpool supporters are crying out for signings and not looking to move players on. He is their best player and I think he will stay."
