Liverpool's transfer business this summer will be interesting.
The club is undergoing something of a substantial evolution, with a new manager, new sporting director and the return of both Michael Edwards and Julian Ward within the FSG sporting framework
Arne Slot of course is coming in as the next head coach
Richard Hughes is arriving as the club's new sporting director, and it's unknown who Liverpool could target this summer, with Slot,
one area that might need some action in during the transfer market is among Liverpool's goalkeepers.
Alisson Becker is Liverpool's undisputed number one, but behind the Brazilian could change this summer.
Caoimhin Kelleher's future is always the subject of speculation because he might want regular first-team action
Kelleher could move on this summer in order to find consistent football, and thus leaving open a spot for the club's number two.
Adrian is still on the club's books, but the veteran may return to his native Spain this summer with his contract expiring at the end of June.
The Daily Mail reported earlier in the month that the Reds could target Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy this summer as a potential back-up stopper
McCarthy played an instrumental role in helping the Saints win promotion to the Premier League after beating Leeds 1-0 at Wembley.
The 34-year-old's contract is expiring this summer, though, and Southampton boss Russell Martin said he wants to try and keep the goalkeeper amid interest from Liverpool
Martin
“I know that there will be offers for all of them and probably offers that will pay them more than we can.
“Hopefully the feeling they have and all that stuff will outweigh financial gain but maybe there'll be other things about it too.
"Big Al [McCarthy], I guess I'm a bit of an idiot for not playing a bit sooner, but I think we have such a brilliant goalkeeping department here with Gavin [Bazunu] and Joe [Lumley] as well.
“I'm so pleased for Al that it finished in this way. As I said, maybe it was meant to happen that he came into the team at some point.
"He's been immense since he came in so we'll try and keep Al as well and we'll keep our fingers crossed. It's my job now to try and squeeze more money out of Phil [Parsons, CEO] and the board and everyone and see where it takes us."
