Michael Edwards is set to make his return to sport after departing his role as Liverpool sporting director.
According to The Athletic, the 44-year-old will reunite with the Reds former director of research Dr Ian Graham - joining as a non-executive director of Graham's new venture, Ludonautics.
The revelation sees a temporary end to speculation linking Edwards with a return to football
Edwards' was speculated to have been in line to take hierarchical roles at Newcastle United and Manchester United, which never came to fruition.
The company will see Graham concentrate on data with Edwards' experience said to be important in education managers and hierarchies on how to incorporate their methods.
It has been said that the new role for Edwards will not prevent him from securing a permanent role.
The report claims that the firm will likely commence in 2024 and Ludonautics will look to offer their skills and experience to teams, with existing and prospective club owners interested in the venture
Dr Graham only departed his role at Liverpool at the end of the season, having made his intention to leave in November 2022 after 10 years
During his time on Merseyside, he headed up the teams data analysis team, focusing on finding value in targets - which Liverpool would be heralded for after a number of shrewd moves in the transfer market
