Micky Van de Ven has warned Tottenham have “no fear” and are ready to pull off a major shock this season.
Spurs defender van de Ven insists they are ready to face Liverpool on Saturday with a new mentality which could upset Jurgen Klopp’s title push
Van de Ven:
“I don’t think we have fear for another team. It would be strange if you have fear for another team. If you go into a game and are like ‘what a team they have’ then I don’t think it is positive.
“We are building together something we want to reach this season. I think it is going really well and we help each other. We fight for each other and we have to keep that going. I think it’s maybe going to be a nice year.”
van de Ven says their battling draw in the North London derby - when they twice came from behind - will only strengthen their belief ahead of the Liverpool showdown.
Van de Ven added
"It was a difficult game. Of course, Arsenal had chances. We also had chances. You always want more, you always want the three points.
"But at the end we have one point and we have to build on to Liverpool.
"It is a big game, the north London derby. Everybody talks about it when you are young and it is crazy when you are standing on the pitch.
"Everybody said it to me, that it is a real derby. Everybody said ‘this is the game’ and of course you have to play it like it is any other game but of course this is the game.
“The atmosphere was crazy at the beginning of the game. It was really nice but I had to keep the focus and play my own game and I think it went really well.”
