'Oh my God!' - Jurgen Klopp blown away by Anfield in Liverpool win over Burnley

Jurgen Klopp hailed Liverpool's revamped Anfield Road end as "exceptional" on a day that saw the club host its largest league crowd since 1949.

There were 59,896 spectators at Anfield on Saturday to watch Liverpool regain top spot

It was Anfield's biggest-ever attendance for a Premier League game.

Before that, Chelsea's visit in late 1949 was the last time Liverpool's L4 home boasted numbers comparable to those of Saturday afternoon.

Klopp marvelled over the Reds' latest redevelopment project ahead of an exciting end-of-season run-in.

Klopp

"Outstanding. Oh my God! Before I really heard it, I saw it already. It looks exceptional. Absolutely exceptional,"

"This stadium grew and grew, it was always wonderful but now it's really outrageously wonderful. Really top. Really top, really loud in the right moments.

"I know it's a game where there are tricky moments and it's difficult to be on your toes, I had my moment with the Main Stand, but it's all good.

I'm really happy that we have them [supporters] now, finally back. It gives a lot of people a wonderful opportunity to see this wonderful team play football."

The Anfield Road End is Liverpool's third redevelopment project of the Fenway Sports Group era, following the reconstruction of the Main Stand in 2016 and the AXA Training Centre in 2020.
