Nottingham Forest have been slapped with a huge fine and their first-team coach Steven Reid banned for two games following the controversial Premier League clash with Liverpool.
Reid was sent off after confronting referee Paul Tierney following the final whistle of the game at the City Ground earlier this month
Forest were furious that two minutes earlier when, after play was stopped with Forest on the attack due to Ibrahima Konate suffering a head injury, Tierney had incorrectly restarted with an uncontested drop ball to Liverpool
Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis stormed on to the pitch while Reid remonstrated with Tierney before being dismissed
Forest have now been fined £75,000 by the FA, with Reid being given a two-game touchline suspension and a £5,000 fine.
"Following the final whistle I was surrounded by members of Nottingham Forest’s substitutes and backroom staff on the field of play.
"One of those who approached me was Steven Reid. He asked me about a decision and I said to him that I will speak to him inside and not outside on the field of play.
"He then continued to question me and I repeated that I would speak to him inside.
"He then said 'it’s the same every week, you c***'. I showed him the red card and then he said 'I worked with you f***ing lot every f***ing week last season, it’s the same every f***ing week you c***”.
"He then continued to use the word f*** and called me a c*** on at least one more occasions (making that a minimum of three in total) as we were making our way off the field of play."
Reid admitted one charge of abusive and insulting language towards a match official but denied repeating the offence.
However, the independent Regulatory Commission decided the case was proven, leading to his extended ban.
