Nottingham Forest captain Ryan Yates has caimed Paul Tierney told him "that's the rule" after awarding an uncontested drop-ball to Liverpool
Forest supporters remain up in arms over the referee's decision to present Kelleher the ball inside his box after Ibrahima Konate had gone down with a head injury.
The home side were in possession at the time of Tierney sounding his whistle and should therefore have been allowed to restart play.
Darwin Nunez would then go and score a 99th-minute winner, only adding to the frustration of the hosts.
Ex-Premier League official Mike Dean described what occurred as a "monumental error" made by Tierney
Forest captain Ryan Yates has revealed his exchange with Tierney after being left baffled by the on-field decision. "

"The referee told me: ‘That’s the rule, they get the ball.’ I honestly don’t know how that is possible,"
"We were in the ascendancy. We had a corner. There was just a coming together and we were going to put another ball. Into the box.
"Then, suddenly, while we’re switched off, they’re allowed to get the ball to the other end of the pitch and put us under pressure. It’s strange, very strange.
"We’ve got to use it to drive us on - I think we have to. We’ve got no choice. We need to start picking up points.
"Playing well is all well and good but you can’t keep playing well - week in, week out - and not pick anything up. We’ll look at what we’ve done well in previous weeks and I’m sure the points will come.”
