The transfer window officially opens, presenting Liverpool and other Premier League clubs the chance to conduct their summer business.

Philippe Coutinho is expected to soon become a free agent as he edges closer to having his Aston Villa contract terminated.

The former Liverpool midfielder, who yesterday celebrated his 32nd birthday, could be heading back to the club he began his career at: Vasco de Gama.

Coutinho spent last season on loan at Qatari side Al-Duhail, having fallen out of favour at Villa under Unai Emery, and is now seemingly Brazil-bound.

That's according to journalist Bruno Andrade, who claims Villa have agreed to bring an end to his current deal and have given him a "free path" to Vasco in the process.

This is certainly not how many people envisaged Coutinho's career coming to an end.

The Brazilian was at the peak off his powers at Liverpool during the 2017/18 season and has endured a gradual decline ever since.

It's sad to see how things have played out since his Anfield days, which now couldn't feel any further away.

Alisson offer 'rejected'

Alisson Becker has reportedly snubbed a move to Saudi Arabia.

The Liverpool goalkeeper has been linked with a move to the Middle East in recent weeks, along with others members of the Reds' first-team squad such as Joe Gomez, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah.

Alisson's agent moved to dismiss speculationlinking the Brazilian with a return to his homeland back in March and it has since been suggested he is very happy at Anfield.
