Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed a couple of points during his latest press conference relating to his side's match against the Reds
When asked about who his captain would be, he said:
Pochettino
"I'm not going to name until before the Liverpool game. I need to see the reaction, how they behave, how they react. It's a time to assess everyone and see what is going on and to see who will be in the squad. It is not really important. For some people yes. Now it is important to assess and be right in the decision."
Pochettino added
"All the players that are here, the option is arrive in the best condition for the competition," he said. "You cannot talk about excuse, arriving the week before to the Premier League.
"We need to manage like Reece who arrived yesterday from UK. It's easy for me to say 'okay go to play' but the risk. If nothing happens okay but if something happens maybe we go back.
"One decision we make when we arrive here is to see all the players and try to decide to help and to arrive in the best condition for the Premier League. It is Liverpool and and we need Reece and we need Enzo and we need all the players in the best condition, it's not because there's a game we need to play tomorrow.
"Maybe yes, they can be involved or maybe not but this is what we are going to analyse with the staff."
