Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti admits it is "difficult" for him to talk about his team's ongoing attempt to sign Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Earlier this week, the Reds rejected an approach from the European Super League advocates to sign Alexander-Arnold during this month's January transfer window.
The 26-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season with Liverpool keen to continue negotiations.
Real are reportedly ready to return with an offer in the region of £20million as they struggle for right-back options given Dani Carvajal has been ruled out for the remainder of the season
Liverpool, though, are expected to stand firm despite the fact they face the prospect of losing Alexander-Arnold for nothing in the summer
when asked about any January transfer moves on Thursday,
Ancelotti said: “It is difficult for me to talk about that in this context. But we are going to have to wait and see.
“We are focused on all these games in January and the game tomorrow (against Valencia) and I’ve got nothing more to say. It’s not sensible for me to speak about the market right now.
“I’m not going to speak about it because right now, here, is not the place to talk about it. We will see what will happen but I have a great squad. We have got injuries and problems with that but we are also able to overcome them.”
