Robbie Fowler has predicted Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

The defender is one of three high-profile players whose contracts expire this summer - along with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah

speculation surrounding their respective futures has dominated the headlines for Liverpool during the January transfer market.

But of the trio, it’s Alexander-Arnold who is being linked most strongly with an Anfield exit

Fowler thinks Liverpool’s No. 66 will leave at the end of the season – but expects Van Dijk and Salah to remain.

“What will happen will happen. My own personal point of view - and it's certainly not inside information - I just think two of them will stay, one of them will go and it's up to the people at home to come to their own conclusions on that,”

Pushed on his elusive claim, Fowler said:

“I think it's fairly obvious. I think obviously Mo will stay, and I think Virgil will stay.

“I love Trent as a player. I think he's probably one of the best in the world at what he does, and of course, I'd love him to stay, but we'll see.”

Alexander-Arnold and his Liverpool future and mindset has been a major talking point since last week’s 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

The 26-year-old was widely criticized for his poor performance, which came just days after news of the offer from Real emerged.

But he responded with two impressive displays against Tottenham Hotspur and Accrington

The right-back received his usual excellent reception from the fans on both occasions, despite the reaction online to the United game.

Arne slot admitted

“Trent didn't have his best game against Manchester United, but for the rest of the season, he has been so good for us — I liked his performance today,”

“Our fans have always given him a lot of support. He didn't play well once, but fans reacted to that. If Trent just plays what we expect from him, then he gets support.”
