Roy Keane sends blunt Liverpool message as Gary Neville makes Arsenal prediction

Roy Keane has called for Liverpool and their Premier League rivals to "sort themselves out" as the former Manchester United midfielder tipped Manchester City to win the title

The Reds are currently the nearest challengers looking to dethrone Pep Guardiola's side from the English top-flight summit

Liverpool have enjoyed a better start to the season this time around, winning eight of their opening 12 matches.

By comparison, the Reds had won half of that amount of games at this stage last year and were sitting ninth.

But while Virgil van Dijk and Co are receiving praise for their form, Keane isn't convinced by the standard of football displayed in the Premier League.

Keane

"I think the standard hasn't been great the last month or two in the Premier League"

"The goals being conceded, the quality, Man City are excellent but the other teams need to sort themselves out, I still can't see beyond City even if they have some sort of blip. They're strong enough."

Gary Neville also isn't convinced by Liverpool's title credentials.

Neville

"I think that Arsenal can win the league this season,"

"Starting like this, the football will come, the football that we saw from them last season will come. The fact that they’ve started a little bit slower, I never think is a bad thing, they’re sat there in the pack behind (top).

"I don't think Liverpool are (capable). My worry with Arsenal is a centre-forward, that does worry me, I like (Gabriel) Jesus and (Eddie) Nketiah but for me they are a number two and three, they need a number one.

"But I do think that when the football comes, and it could come after Christmas at March, which is the right time, they could be the opposite of last season – a bit of a stuttery start and stronger finish. That's what they need to do."
