Ruben Amorim has laughed off the latest questions about his future as the Sporting Lisbon manager continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool.
The Portuguese took issue with suggestions that he already had a verbal agreement to join the Reds last week
Amorim said
"To end everything that has been reported, this is the last time I will talk about my future
"There was no interview or agreement with Liverpool. The only thing we all want is to be crowned champions and nothing will change.
"I’ll say it again, I’m Sporting’s coach. There was no interview with any club or agreement with any club. I am focused, as always, on defending my club.
“And as I have nothing else to say, there won’t be any interviews or agreements with Sporting’s coach - that’s it, that matter is resolved.
"Stop with this story. This is the last time I speak about my future.”
Reporters, rather creatively, queried whether any of his Sporting players had asked the Portuguese about his future amid the ongoing speculation.
Amorim laughed off the question while name-dropping Liverpool as he again referenced last week's reports
“I didn't say anything to the players,"
“When it was said that I had an agreement with Liverpool, I felt the need to speak, but I left that part for the press conference.”
"I don't feel anything about the players, they just ask about time off!"
