Neil Mellor highlighted the contributions of Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate and Trent Alexander-Arnold
Speaking on the Review Show, Mellor said:
Neil Mellor:
“We know the importance of momentum and there’s a real feel-good factor around the football club.
“Salah is unbelievable and he’s right up there amongst the legends. It’s quite incredible but it’s a time to enjoy watching a world-class player in Mo Salah and one of our all-time great attacking players.
“I thought he was absolutely outstanding against Brentford; not just his goal but his all-round game. He was a constant threat, looked sharp and created chances for his teammates.”
Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, enjoyed another stellar outing – and his inventive use of the ball troubled the Bees’ backline on numerous occasions.
Mellor continued; “Once again, Trent had the most touches out there and the most passes. He’s a joy to watch.
“He had 76 touches and he was everywhere on that field. He is really enjoying and thriving in this new position.”
Mellor added:
“It was a great battle with [Ivan] Toney, who has had a brilliant season with Brentford, getting 20 goals. He has really matured as a centre-forward and is a handful,”
I thought Konate did really well, he won a lot of those battles, was nice and aggressive but fair.”
