Martin Zubimendi has admitted Takefusa Kubo "shut up" him and his team-mates after scoring a decisive goal in a 1-0 victory versus Espanyol
versus Espanyol on Saturday evening. Kubo has been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer, as well as in previous years
Kubo was surprisingly left on the bench for his side's latest La Liga encounter, fuelling talk over his future.
The 23-year-old winger came on with ten minutes remaining to score the game's only goal
Kubo raced away in celebration cupping his ears and pointing to the name on the back of his shirt.
Zubimendi Said
“I've already seen that Take made a face when he found out that he was not a starter. But then he went out onto the field as he should and he shut us all up with that goal."
Explaining why Kubo was left on the bench to begin with, Real Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil commented:
"He received a strong blow in the first matchday, against Rayo, and was on the verge of asking for a substitution, but the decision was really tactical.
“Today I understood that Sergio [Gomez]and [Sheraldo] Becker had to be on the wings, but I always tell you that for me those who come off the bench are just as important as those who make it into the starting eleven and today it has been proven.
