Pep Guardiola has played down his post-match clash with Darwin Nunez after Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Man City at the Etihad.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s late equaliser cancelled out Erling Haaland’s 50th Premier League goal
Guardiola dismissed the suggestion that he was frustrated with the result when asked about the exchange in his post-match press conference.
Guardiola
Nothing happened, he’s just stronger than me,”
“Nothing, nothing happened.
“Listen, no it’s not frustration with that. I’m really pleased. The second question in the press conference, you talk about that?
"Maybe for the last question they ask me about Darwin Nunez and Pep Guardiola and what I’m going to answer. Nothing happened.
“I’m incredibly pleased about the performance we played because we know exactly, in seven or eight years here, how tough they are. How good a team they are…
“After eight years winning what we won, performing against Liverpool in that way. They are happy, we are a little less happy, it's football and nothing else. I'm really really pleased. I'm so proud of my team.”
Meanwhile, Guardiola refused to be drawn on Ruben Dias’ disallowed goal against Liverpool.
Guardiola said
"I didn’t watch it, I didn’t watch it back,”
“I had five flash interviews and all of them ask me the same question. Maybe you watch it better than me.
“I didn’t watch it but after Newcastle vs Arsenal action, I don’t know. I didn’t watch it, honestly.”
