Trent Alexander-Arnold details Liverpool change that inspired 'huge' Arsenal win

Trent Alexander-Arnold described the late 2-0 win over Arsenal as "huge" after booking their place in the FA Cup fourth round.

Luis Diaz rounded off the scoring in second-half stoppage time, doubling the Reds' lead after Jakub Kiwior turned Alexander-Arnold's corner into his own net

Trent lauded Jurgen Klopp's half-time tweaks after his side were forced to weather pressure from the Gunners throughout the first 45 minutes.

Mikel Arteta's men found joy pressing the Reds in their own half. However, they failed to capitalise on their pressure.

Klopp's selection issues were further compounded by the hamstring injury to Dominik Szoboszlai, while Virgil van Dijk didn't travel to the Emirates through illness.

After the gutsy victory, Alexander-Arnold highlighted the only objective for their trip down south

Trent

Huge, got a lot of players missing, lads on internationals, Virg missing from the squad as well,"

"We came here with one objective to win and get into the next round and we've done that, dug deep, two late goals.

"We changed things round at half-time and we came out, played football, created chances and made an impact for us

"There were times in the first half where we were naive, caught playing out from the back and they've got chances on the back of our mistakes.

"They're a high-pressing team, we stuck with them, we have an identity and we used player strengths - we got Harvey (Elliott) on the ball, Darwin (Nunez) and Lucho (Luis Diaz).

"We mixed it up, Darwin went wider and Cody (Gakpo) went up front and created a lot in the second-half.

Liverpool now await their opponents in the last 32 of the FA Cup and will learn their fate prior to Manchester United's trip across Greater Manchester to the DW Stadium
