In an event held at the city's Titanic Hotel, FFC chair Jamie Carragher was joined by fellow host Matt Lucas and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who gave a Q&A session
Carragher: He's come straight from Anfield and he hasn't even had the time to get dressed properly (into black-tie dress code), but he's a local lad and he's one of our own.
“So let's have a big round of applause for Trent Alexander-Arnold! Was that a good introduction - a better right foot than Stevie (Gerrard)?"
Alexander-Arnold: "I think that's the first time you've ever complimented me!"
Carragher (laughs): "Well, I wasn't too complimentary at half time! I actually asked if we had a backup plan for Trent. It wasn't going well at half time, was it?"
Alexander-Arnold: "No not at all, but my mum would have come up and said something for me if she needed to!"
Carragher: "But listen, there'll be a few people in here today who were there. I wasn't one of them, but how was it? A big result."
Alexander-Arnold: "A big result, yeah. You know, the other results went our way as well. A good result but we've got to keep plugging away."
Carragher: "There's been a lot of talk about the atmosphere this season with Arne Slot replacing Jurgen Klopp with a different style, maybe not as gung-ho and that doesn't get the crowd involved as much, but what was the atmosphere like in that second half?"
Alexander-Arnold: "Oh it was bouncing! Absolutely bouncing. We came out, set the tone early on. In the first half we weren't at the races and we needed the crowd as well, so it was very good today."
Carragher: "Well give us an insight into Arne Slot. We're all intrigued and it's been an unbelievable start to the season.
“We were all devastated about Jurgen Klopp moving on, the question was who is this new guy coming in to replace him...it's started like a house on fire, with the help of players also.
“But can you just give us an insight into Arne and what he has brought into the team?"
Alexander-Arnold: "He is very detailed. He has a lot of detail in how we're going to play. We change it every game to be honest and we change it within games.
“A lot of teams change the way they play when they come up against us, which can be difficult, like today in the first half, but we got a lot better in the second half.
"But no, there is a lot of detail and we have got players who are quality so we are always going to win games but he has definitely come in and opened a lot of our eyes to a different way of football and the way to play under him. And, you know, it's very exciting."
Carragher: "Specifically you, we speak a lot about you in the role I do [at Sky Sports] and I don't think there's ever been a right full-back in world football who has ever been spoken about as much as you, because you are unique.
“We've probably never seen a full-back play the game the way you do. What has [Slot[ given you that is different to what Jurgen did, instruction-wise?"
Alexander-Arnold: "I think a lot of it is kind of the same but he allows me to play the game with the ball and I think a lot of it without the ball, you know, he is probably hard on me.
“I'd say he is definitely a perfectionist, so he searches for perfection and when you get a compliment, you know you have earned it, type of thing..."
Carragher: "He reminds me of Rafa Benitez! He never complimented me in six years.
“That might have had something to do with my performances, by the way! But is that what Slot is like?"
Alexander-Arnold: "Like I said, he is a perfectionist and unless you are perfect, which is not possible, they are always going to pick out one or two things in your game you could have improved.
“But it keeps us on our toes, keeps us wanting to impress, wanting to get better and it helps us. So far it is working, so hopefully we can carry on like that."
Carragher: "The thing I missed most about being a player - and you'll get this in 10 years' time being asked it - the thing I missed most was going into the dressing room when you have won.
“It's not actually playing, it's going into the dressing room when you've won and that feeling, especially at Anfield. So what was that like today?
“Especially when you get in there and find out our biggest rivals since you've had a red shirt on (Manchester City) have lost today."
Alexander-Arnold: "We didn't know at all. We just think we've won the game, a good win.
“And then you check your phone and you've seen City have lost and it's one you probably don't expect either, because you kind of always expect City to win every game to be honest.
“So, for us to see that was the cherry on top of the cake. It was a perfect weekend for a Liverpool fan."
Carragher: "It's what I call a Carlsberg weekend! One where every result goes your way. It didn't feel like that at half time, I should say.
“You've won the Premier League title, you know what it takes to get over the line and we're just over a quarter of the way through the season and in this team you're in with the manager you've got, do you feel Liverpool can win the league this season?"
Alexander-Arnold: "For sure, yeah!" (cheers from the crowd).
Carragher: "Whoa! There we go! There's the headline!"
Alexander-Arnold: "I definitely reckon it's possible. It's just about consistency to be honest, that is the most important thing; to just keep winning.
“We focus on ourselves, as hard it is, we can't get into watching other teams and their results.
“But we're in a good position and if we can keep our consistency and keep winning games then, you know, we'll be in a good position in a few months."
Carragher: "Talking about Football For Change and you've got the mural outside of Anfield now, you're a local lad and what does it say?"
Alexander-Arnold: "I'm just a lad from Liverpool whose dreams have just come true." (Applause)
Carragher: "I mean that says it all, doesn't it? But what does Football For Change mean to you? I know you give back plenty, you and your family.
“We're also in the situation now in the city with Zoe's Place and you see everyone in the city coming together and that's why we're the best for that community-wise. So how important is tonight and this charity for you?"
Alexander-Arnold: "It's massive [for me]. It's a big part of what I believe in, you know, giving back to the less fortunate and helping others.
“And being in a privileged position that I am in means that I am able to do it more than others. So it's a big thing for me and my family and I think it always will be.
“And I think the work that Football For Change does helps so much. To see everyone here to help with such an amazing cause is incredible to see."
Carragher: "Fantastic, a round of applause for that. Spot on. We've only got Trent for a short time ybecause he's got a huge Champions League game in midweek against Bayer Leverkusen and then the following week against Aston Villa.
“But Trent, everyone in this room is waiting for me to ask you a big question.. I know they told me I couldn't ask it before we came on but it's the elephant in the room, so I have to ask you: who do you prefer, me or Gary Neville?" (Audience laughs and applauds)
Alexander-Arnold: "It has to be you!"
