Trent Alexander-Arnold 'sets stance' on move away as Liverpool handed transfer green light

Liverpool started their pre-season plans on Friday with a behind-closed-door friendly with Preston North End.

The Reds' preparations for the new era under Arne Slot are well underway and they will travel to the USA next week

Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham have all been active in the market but the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal are moving in slowly and more considered.

Here is the latest transfer rumours

Guehi transfer 'confidence'

Liverpool have been handed a possible green light in the race to sign Crystal Palace and England defender Marc Guehi.

According to TEAMtalk, the Reds are 'super confident' in landing the centre-back after Arsenal stepped out of the race.

It's said that talks between the two clubs have been held, with Liverpool encouraged by the noises coming out of Guehi's camp.

The report states that Slot's men are confident of landing Guehi for £65m.

Guehi will not push a move away from Selhurst Park out of respect for his current employers.

Should the two teams agree on a deal this summer, personal terms are thought to be no problem.

Alexander-Arnold ultimatum

Real Madrid's interest in Trent Alexander-Arnold could leave Liverpool with an unwanted headache to deal with.

It's reported that the right-back will assess the situation at Anfield at the end of next season before making a decision on whether he will stay.

According to The Independent, the 25-year-old is waiting to see how things go under Slot before deciding on extending his contract, which expires in 2025. Madrid are reportedly considering a move if he does decide to leave the Merseyside outfit.

Alexander-Arnold's relationship with Jude Bellingham is said to be an important factor in a potential deal. However, any move to Spain will only happen if no new contract can be agreed.
