Trent Alexander-Arnold revealed his thoughts on playing in midfield and his role as vice-captain
Trent joined volunteers and politicians this morning at the Whitechapel Warehouse in the city centre amid efforts by the charity to tackle the city’s growing homelessness crisis
They helped employees and volunteers at its warehouse to fill emergency parcels which will reach nearly 2,000 people.
A conveyor belt was formed, with those present packing much-needed items such as gifts, vouchers, clothing and sanitary products into gift bags ready to be delivered

It's a growing issue. It's one that is deeply affecting the people of the city and people that are close to me, people that are around me, friends, family and people that to me dearly.
“It's a big problem within the city, but it's one that you see places like this are trying their best to tackle.”
Trent added
“I think I've always felt responsibility from a younger age around giving back to the community and giving back to the city, because, with lots of people in the city, they've done a lot for me growing up.
"They're the ones that mean the most to me, so being vice captain or anything like that doesn't really change the mindset that I've got towards initiatives like this.
“I’ve spoken to Steve and he’s highlighted how big of an issue it was.
"It’s something that I can really get behind, especially across the winter time and bring as much awareness as possible because it's a growing issue and it's one that we need to tackle as well as possible.
"And seeing all the work that the volunteers and the workers do here is amazing to see.”
When asked if he felt a new look Liverpool side had taken people by surprise as real contenders this season, Alexander-Arnold insisted the team still had a lot to prove.
Trent said:
“I mean, so far so good. We’re in a decent, decent position right now, but it's still early days.
“It's a busy time of the season. We need to keep winning games, keep the momentum up, but it's one that we're excited about.”
When quizzed on if he sees himself playing in the middle of the park more,
Trent said:
“I think that's probably the path and the route that I'm on. Ultimately, not my decision, but I enjoy playing in the middle of the pitch and just want to help the team win games, to be honest.”
The task ahead for Liverpool, which sees crucial league matches against arch rivals Manchester United and fellow title contenders Arsenal, with a League Cup quarter final against West Ham sandwiched in between.
Trent commented
“[It’s] huge, [hopefully] three good results there. It'll put us on a really good path. It's three results we need to go and get. So that's where our aim is at - to go and get those wins.”
